Accommodation

accom3The cottage is self-catering – for a weekend, short term or medium term stay. (It is not a bed and breakfast.) It is a peaceful holiday retreat for couples, a family or a group of friends. To stay here is to interact with the local environment and the serenity of this special place.

Kurringai Cottage is a fully furnished, self-contained cottage which has three bedrooms — one room with a double bed and the other rooms with twin beds. The cottage can sleep six people. For the winter months there are electric blankets in two rooms and also plenty of blankets and doonas — cosy and comfortable.

The living room has a TV, Radio and a vast library of non-fiction and fiction books for the avid reader. It has air conditioning and an open fire – for a cosy winter holiday.

The kitchen has a gas stove, fridges, microwave, a pantry, ample cookware, crockery and cutlery. There is a separate laundry with washing machine and ironing facilities.

The spacious verandah, with gas barbeque and large outdoor setting catches the panoramic view and is set amongst the native garden. Honeyeaters, blue wrens and other bushbirds leave the garden to drink and bathe in the birdbaths.

In winter the early morning sun streams onto the spacious verandah and through the windows of the living room. The house has a northeasterly aspect and overlooks Wangaratta to the north and Oxley, Milawa, Myrtleford and the Victorian Alps to the east.

To protect the abundant wildlife — no pets allowed.
