Milawa and Oxley (15-20mins by car)
This Region is centred around the township of Oxley and Milawa and is home to a number of leading wineries and gourmet food producers. Renowned for superb cuisine, wines to thrill the most discerning connoisseur and a wonderful array of fresh and preserved products. During the year there are several events that showcase the abundance of gourmet food and fine wine, including in the first weekend of November, ‘The Oxley Market’ — the largest range of stalls ever seen in the North East with a huge selection of crafts, food and produce — and later in November La Dolca Vita Food and Wine Festival.
Wineries include Brown Bros, John Gehrig, Sam Miranda, Rose Hill, Wood Park, and Reads Oxley wineries.
Restaurants and Cafes in Milawa are The Milawa Cheese Company and Factory Bakery and Restaurant, Brown Bros Epicurean Centre and Food on Wood. At Oxley, a favourite with our guests is the King River Cafe open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Local Vineyards are Auldstone Cellars, Booths of Taminick and Baileys Winery — just over the Taminick Gap from Kurringai Cottage on the other side of the Warbys. This vineyard commenced in 1870.
Events — the annual Glenrowan Winemakers Dinner in September and Tasting, Trails and Tales — In Search of Australia’s Most Wanted Wines, Queens Birthday Weekend.
This area produces a wide variety of fruits including oranges, cherries, peaches, nuts and strawberries. Many properties allow you to select fresh fruit (or pick your own).
